Frequently Asked Questions
These Are Our Final Answers.
The Game
What is The Game Show Challenge?
The Game Show Challenge is a 60-minute live, interactive game-show experience for groups of 4 to 200+. Teams compete head-to-head in 3–5 original games — knowledge, skill, and luck rounds — emceed by a live host. Every group rolls for a shot at the $100,000 Perfect Eight prize. Game Show Challenge is rated 5.0 across 2,349+ reviews.
How long does The Game Show Challenge take?
Game play lasts 60 minutes; plan on roughly 90 minutes at the venue including check-in. Groups should arrive 15 minutes before show time so the host can brief teams and seat the studio audience. Larger corporate or private events with rotating teams or catered breaks can run 2–3 hours — see /team-building/ for scheduling options.
What kinds of games will we play?
Each show runs 3–5 original games designed in-house by The Game Show Challenge team. Some are knowledge-based (think trivia with a twist), some are skill-based (timing, dexterity, quick decisions), and a few are pure luck. Games take cues from familiar TV formats — Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, Press Your Luck — but every game is original to Game Show Challenge. The host adjusts difficulty to the group’s age and energy.
Is The Game Show Challenge fun for all ages?
Yes — the host customizes games to the group, and reviewers consistently flag it as multi-generational-friendly. Kids 8 and up tend to engage most fully; younger children can join with a paying adult. Contestants 14 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult on the booking.
What's the minimum age to play?
There’s no minimum age, but kids 8 and older tend to get the most out of the games. Contestants 14 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult on the same booking. The host calibrates round difficulty to the youngest active player, so bringing a 6-year-old won’t break the experience for the rest of the group.
How many people can play at once?
Groups range from 4 to 200+ players, making us ideal for groups of just about any size. The Game Show Challenge has hosted single corporate events with 100+ guests at one location and 200+ via rotating-team formats. Minimum to launch a public show: 4 players. For groups under 4 or larger than 25, contact your location directly so the host can adjust format or stack additional shows.
Pricing, Cancellation & Booking
How much does The Game Show Challenge cost?
Public-show pricing starts at $35.97 at all four locations; private bookings and corporate events are quoted per group based on headcount, location, duration and more. Gift cards are available at /gift-cards/. For an exact quote on a private show or team-building event, contact /contact-us/ — most quotes come back the same business day.
What's included in the price?
The price includes 60 minutes of live game play with a professional host, 3–5 original games, all props and on-screen tech, and one $100,000 Perfect Eight roll attempt per game per group. Food, drinks, and add-on private-room rentals are not included by default but can be added at booking. There are no hidden fees or gratuity charges.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes — same-day bookings are sometimes possible but not guaranteed. The Game Show Challenge recommends booking at least 48 hours ahead for public shows and 2+ weeks for private or corporate events with 25+ guests. Bookings are made online via our site or by phone. Please call if you have questions and we’ll do our best to accommodate you and your group.
What's the cancellation and refund policy?
Bookings are non-refundable, but they can be rescheduled once as a courtesy with at least 48 hours’ notice. For weather, illness, or scheduling conflicts inside 48 hours, contact the local venue directly — exceptions are handled case-by-case. Spots are also transferable: if the booking party can’t make it, anyone in the group can step in and play.
Can we just walk in?
Walk-ins are sometimes possible but cannot be guaranteed — public shows fill up, and a minimum of four players must be booked for a show to run. The safest move is to check the booking calendar at the local venue (Atlanta, Charlotte, Columbia or Greenville) before driving over. For last-minute groups in Greenville or Charlotte, calling the venue directly is faster than the website.
Locations & Logistics
Where are The Game Show Challenge locations?
The Game Show Challenge operates four venues in the Southeast: Atlanta, GA ((404) 260-0283), Charlotte, NC ((704) 246-4629), Columbia, SC ((803) 470-1112), and Greenville, SC ((864) 402-3007). Each venue has its own booking calendar, host team, and parking situation — see the location pages for addresses, directions, and venue-specific amenities.
When should we arrive?
Arrive 15 minutes before show time so the host can check the group in, brief teams, and start on schedule. Late arrivals can sometimes be added to a show in progress at the host’s discretion, but missed games are not refunded or rescheduled. For groups of 25+, plan an extra 10-minute buffer for check-in.
Is The Game Show Challenge accessible for wheelchairs and mobility aids?
All four venues are accessible to wheelchair and mobility-aid users on the main game floor; specific accommodations vary by location. Contestants who can’t physically participate in dexterity or timing rounds can play the knowledge-based games and watch the others from the studio audience without losing eligibility for the $100,000 roll. Contact the local venue at least 48 hours ahead to confirm specific needs.
What if someone in our group is shy or doesn't want to play?
No one is forced into the spotlight. The Game Show Challenge is structured so contestants can opt out of any individual round and watch from the studio audience while still being part of the group. Most reviewers note that shy guests end up jumping in once the games start; a few hold out the whole 60 minutes and cheer on others instead — both are common.
Is the experience public or private?
By default, public bookings share the room with other groups (minimum 4 total players to launch the show). Any group can convert their booking to 100% private by buying out the remaining seats at a discounted rate, provided no other groups have already booked into that show. Corporate events with 25+ guests are booked private from the start — see /team-building/.
Food & Drink
Can we bring food and drinks?
Outside food and drink policies vary by location, so check with the local venue before bringing in anything. Some locations have dedicated party or meeting rooms that allow catering for corporate and private bookings; public-show guests should plan to eat before or after the experience. Catering coordination for corporate events is handled by the host team — see /team-building/ for details.
Do you serve alcohol?
Not yet. The Game Show Challenge is in the process of partnering with local food-and-beverage operators at each venue to add beer, wine, and cocktail service; the rollout date isn’t confirmed. For now, public-show guests should plan to drink before or after the show. Private corporate bookings can sometimes arrange beverage service through approved local caterers.
Corporate Events & Team Building
Can The Game Show Challenge host a corporate team-building event?
Yes — corporate team building is one of the venue’s most-booked formats. Single-event group sizes range from 8 to 200+, with private buyouts, branded games, and custom company content available. Groups under 25 typically run a single 60-minute show; larger groups rotate through multiple shows or use a tournament format. See /team-building/ or call the venue for a quote.
How is The Game Show Challenge different from an escape room or trivia night for team building?
Three differences. First, scale: escape rooms cap at 6–10 people per room, trivia is passive; The Game Show Challenge runs one show for groups of up to 200+ with everyone engaged. Second, format: it’s a live host emceeing 3–5 active games, not a single puzzle or a question-and-answer loop. Third, takeaway: every group rolls for the $100,000 prize and brings home moments of seeing colleagues react under spotlight pressure — a different memory shape than “we escaped” or “we got 14 out of 20.”
How much planning does a corporate event require from us?
Almost none — pick a date, pick a location, send the headcount and any company themes or inside jokes the host should weave in, and the venue handles scheduling, scripting, AV, and game flow. For groups wanting branded scoreboards or personalized content, allow 7–10 business days lead time. Most corporate hosts confirm logistics in a single 20-minute kickoff call.
Can we customize the games for our company?
Yes — branded games, company-specific trivia, custom team names, internal-joke rounds, and personalized intro videos are all available for corporate bookings. The host team builds custom content with 7–10 business days lead time. Send brand assets, target trivia categories, and any “do not say” topics to the local venue at booking.
What's the largest group The Game Show Challenge can host?
The Game Show Challenge can accommodate large groups of 200 guests or more, handled by rotating teams through multiple back-to-back shows or running a tournament-style bracket. For groups of less than 200 guests, a single buyout may be sufficient; for very large groups of more than 200 guests, the host team may recommend a multi-room, multi-round format. Contact us directly with questions about very large groups.
Birthdays & Private Events
Is The Game Show Challenge a good birthday party idea?
Yes — birthdays are one of the top three booking reasons across all four locations, and 5.0-rated reviews from 2,349+ guests skew heavily toward party occasions. Kids’ parties for ages 8+ work well as private buyouts (typically 8–15 kids per show); adult birthdays often book public shows and convert to private if other groups haven’t filled the slots. See /charlotte/birthday-parties/ or /atlanta/birthday-parties/ for venue-specific details.
The $100K Prize
Can I really win $100,000 playing The Game Show Challenge?
Yes — every group gets a Perfect Eight roll attempt for a $100,000 prize at the end of the show, and at least one player per game is selected to take the roll. The odds are long (the math is on the full $100K rules page at /100k-roll-rules/), but smaller real prizes — gift cards, merchandise, comp tickets — are awarded throughout the games too.
